Research Interests:
Zoonosis and Comparative Medicine
Recent research interests include but not limited to Enteric Viral Metagenomics, Identification of emerging viruses associated with diarrhea in humans and animals, and Immune Pathogenesis Mechanism for HEV, PSV.
Earlier research topics included Animal models of infectious diseases and pathogenesis on animals especially on Bama miniature pig. The research project "Nursing and Pathogen Purification of Chinese Experimental Miniature Swine" won the second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress award in 2003. "The Study on Purification Technology for Experimental Bama Miniature Pig (Shanghai population)" was completed in 2006 and "Determination of Biological Characteristics of Experimental Bama miniature pig (Shanghai population)” in 2007. The infection model (HEV, TGEV, SS2) and models of some chronic diseases on miniature pig were successfully established to understand pathogenesis in artificial infection and evaluate medical intervention.
